Closet Organizing Systems (COS) was selected for two Top Shelf Design Awards to be announced at the 2012 Closet and Home Organizing Expo at the Austin Convention Center on February 15^th in Austin, TX.  COS was selected for a melamine office system design and solid/wood veneer closet system. This is the 9th time that COS has been awarded a Top Shelf Design award by Closet Magazine over the last 7 years since its inception.

In the home office category Carey Ekstrom received a Top Shelf Award for her unique office solutions for a sitting/sun room adjacent to the client’s kitchen and living room. The client worked from home and required a functional, yet attractive workspace that blends with the family entertainment activities and compliments the visibility from both the kitchen and living room areas. Transforming a dated, non-functional area into an attractive, warm and inviting multi-purpose area in the home in which the family now looks forward to spending time together.  

In the Wood Veneer category Bill Curran received a Top Shelf Award a cherry stained master closet system simulated leather inserts in the door panels, thicker vertical side panels, full backing, and matching top and bottom moulding throughout the room. The closet was designed with a peninsula island cabinet with his/hers hampers, jewelry drawers, viewing mirror, and granite countertop which doubled for folding and packing clothes. The space also included a window seat bench with drawer storage and an upper lighting valance which is flanked by more hanging storage.

Awards were presented by TV personality Amanda LeBlanc of The Style Networks show “The Amada’s” at the 2012 Top Shelf Design Awards in Austin Texas.

Closet Organizing Systems has been awarded the prestigious 2011 Angie’s List Super Service Award. Closet Organizing Systems won the same award in 2010, making this our second year receiving this honor, which is bestowed annually to approximately 5 percent of all the companies rated on the nation’s leading provider of consumer reviews on local service companies.

Winners of the 2011 Top Shelf Awards were announced February 23 at the CLOSETS Top Shelf Award Presentation during the 7th annual Closets & Home Organization Conference & Expo. The Top Shelf Awards recognize closet system industry leaders, and Closet OS is honored to once again have been included.

Closet OS received a Top Shelf Award in the garage category for this cool remodeling project, which included custom red and black garage cabinets.

This year marks the 10th time Closet OS has been nominated as a finalist for their custom closet system design and expertise. This most recent award is the 8th we have received in the past three years.

Once each year closet designers really come out of the closet for the Top Shelf Awards at the annual Closets & Home Organization Expo and conference.

And members of our design team have brought home “the gold” every year that we submit entries – which we’re really quite proud of. The contest is called the Top Shelf Design Awards and independent judges evaluate and rank the entries. Then the team at Vance Publishing tallies the results and announces the winners during a celebration at the conference.

One of our first winners is this cherry blossom melamine walk in closet created for a client who wanted a masculine look with a high degree of functionality. This dressing room features traditional, raised-panel fronts and combines open and closed storage at varying depths. Changing the depths of sections not only maximizes the storage, but also adds interest. The elegant crown and base molding take it to the highest level of luxury.

Another project that was recognized is this home office design. By mixing melamine and wood, we were able to get a really high-end look for less dollars. The lower pullouts for electronics add to the functionality. The bulletin board keeps things right in front of the owner for easy organization and accessibility and the glass doors lighten the whole feel.

We’re also fortunate enough to have the custom capabilities that allow us to do solid wood projects in almost any species you can think of. This award winner is done in walnut and features decorative burl inlays, patterned glass and ample lighting both inside and under the cabinetry. The space also incorporates a pants presser, an adjacent laundry area and extra storage behind a three-way mirror.
